GRADING SYSTEM

Our scoring system is the great leveler of modern management.

By adding a factor of days to cash to a factor for return on invested capital, we score management in a way that sets a common bar for all industries everywhere, regardless of sector or geography.

Since all Grade A companies share the same operating characteristics, few days of sales in receivables and inventories, for example, the lessons in one can be ported to another.

Also:

  • You can rate mergers—No F + F will ever make an A, for example
  • You can rate your competition—ignore the Fs, no matter what they do, and always fear the A in your market
  • You can grade your customers too—F’s are high risk, sell on price; A’s are low risk, sell on value.
  • You can use grades to determine if you or your competition can make innovation, or any top line initiative, accretive—F=no, A=yes.
